Thermal Performance of the Thermal Storage Energy with Phase Change Material

Abstract Values of energy supply and demand vary within the same timeframe are not equal. Consequently, to minimise amount wasted, there is a need use various types storing systems. Recently, one can observe trend in which phase change materials (PCM) have gained popularity as that store an excess heat energy. In this research, authors analysed paraffin wax (cheese wax)’s capability PCM material for low temperature energy-storage device. Due relatively thermal conductivity wax, also open-cell ceramic Al2O3/SiC composite foams’ (in was dispersed) influence on exchange process. Thermal analysis performed, determining its specific liquid solid state, latent (LH) melting, melting conductivity. tests were performed container (with built-in foams) transient transfer. Heat transfer coefficient value accumulated determined.
